We
are situated in the NATIONAL PARK "LOS GLACIARES" at the bank of
Lago Roca (Roca Lake) and at the foot of "Cerro Cristal" (Crystal
hill), at 50 Km. from the El Calafate city by provincial route 15 and at
60 Km. from "glaciar Perito Moreno".

Actually the Camping has 40 places to camp (each with tables, benches and grills) separated one from the other approximately 30 mts., where you can arrive with your own car)
70% of the camping area has electric light (provided with electric generator).
There is potable water in the camping area.
Heated bedrooms for 2 or 4 persons.
Well-heated
rest rooms with hot water during the whole day.
Washing
pools (for clothes and tableware) with hot water.

Activities in the area
|
Trekking
There are possibilities of making short trekking of 1 or 2 hours (visits
to cave paintings, panoramic viewpoint, bank of Roca lake, southern branch
of "Argentino" lake). Whole day trekking (climb to Crystal hill
of 1282 Mts. with panoramic views of "Torres del Payne", Perito
Moreno Glacier, Argentino lake, and glaciers: Frias, Grande, Gorra, etc.
5 hours trekking up to "Cachorro" river.
8 hours trekking to "3 de Abril" lagoon, both going round the southern
branch of "Argentino" lake.
Several days trekking to Frias Glacier (32 km.) going round Frias Lake and
glaciers Grande and Gorra, staying overnight in a mountain shelter belonging
to the Continental Ice Institute (Impossible to miss it!)
Fishing
The sporting fishing season starts in November and finishes in April. There
are Rainbow and Canadian trout in the lake. During the months of October
and November it is possible to see the spawning, which takes place in the
stream "Chorrillo de Los Salmones" which runs across the Camping
field.
Horseback
riding
At the Estancia NIBEPO AIKE, 5 kms. from the Camping, and at Estancia LAGO ROCA, 8 kms. from the Camping, gentle or tough itineraries can be made, lasting different periods of time.
